Practice the pause. When in doubt, pause. When angry, pause. When tired, pause. When stressed, pause. And when you pause, pray. #powerofpositivity
The past couple of weeks in religion class we have been learning about prayer.   I ended last Thursday's lesson with the above statement and then simplified it by saying to pause before speaking, pause before reacting, and pause before making a choice, and when you pause pray!  It is a great reminder to all of us.  Pause and Pray!

Spelling - We are taking a break for a little while from spelling.  This will allow the kiddos to spend more focused time on the harder memory pieces and the Wax Museum.  I plan to begin spelling again when the Wax Museum is over.

Week 19: Tidbits of Information

Image result for happy new year clip art

In today's Religion lesson we discussed what it means to follow Jesus.  As we discussed this, I posed this question to the students, "Do you follow Jesus or do you ask Jesus to follow you?"  I explained to the children that in this world they are taught it's all about them, it's a "me generation" where they are taught it's all about them, what they want, and how many followers they have, but that isn't what Jesus teaches us.  Many people think they are following Jesus, but the reality is, they've invited Jesus to follow them.  If Jesus is not Lord of all, then He is not Lord at all.  So now I leave you with the same question, Do you follow Jesus or do you ask Jesus to follow you?

Spelling Contracts were passed out today and will be due on Friday.

Memory is the week 19 assignment.

In Science we will begin learning about Environments.

New Student - We welcomed Won Chae to our classroom today.  Won is from Korea and will be visiting our classroom until February 28th.  She is staying with the Staub family.  We thank God for this unique opportunity!
